ABOUT SULTRY SWEETS
With us, food is personal.
I started baking 20 years ago. I can recall my daughter, Jayla at the age of 3 years old developing a sweet tooth. More specifically I noticed that she had a love for anything chocolate, and she loved brownies. Every time that we went to the grocery store, I would notice her looking down every aisle and she would totally loose it when she saw the aisle with all the sweet treats.
I remember picking up packages of treats, reading the labels, and examining the products. I recall saying, Jayla we can make this. Periodically on Sunday’s, I started to bake some sweet treats and would put a surprise in her lunch box on Monday’s. What I did not know, is that she was sharing her treats with her classmates in pre-school. I would pick her up from school and I would literally have random preschoolers running up to me and giving me hugs, asking if I could bake something for them. I always say that children are your biggest critics. If something is not delicious, they are going to let you know.
With that being said, I did not start this journey alone. I owe it all to my daughter Jayla! If it were not for your sweet tooth, I would not be here baking for the innumerable number of customers that I have baked for today.
